Time has told: Since 1936, the entire company history of Prodotti Stella reflects an underlying passion: to give real solutions to the daily requirements of gelato and pastry makers.

1936 Giuseppe Gabaldo, aged 26, founded the company “Prodotti Stella”

1939 The first registered trademark for “Gelato preparations”.                                 

1945 The first quality and product development laboratory.

1946 First exhibitions at the end of the World War.

1951 The Gelocrema preparations range presented at the Paris exhibition.

1956 The first preparations for gelato base mixes with 50g per liter dosing are establishing.

1962 The launch of the Gelolampo range, even for the soft-ice market.

1969 Giancarlo Gabaldo receives the “Golden Cone” as award “for his commitment to realize a steadily increasing strengthening if the Italian Gelato market”

1970 The first range of product containing dehydrated and lyophilized fruits, registered under the name Liogel

1979 Prodotti Stella transforms from a sole proprietorship company into a limited company

1991 inauguration of the new plant covering 17.000 sq meters

1995 Prodotti Stella enters the ILLVA-Saronno Group.

1996-1998 and still today the synergies with ILLVA-Saronno Group enable the developments of new products ranges with exclusive original trademarks. Among these: Disaronno Amaretto, Zabaione Florio, Mandarinetto Isolabella and others.

2004 the “Tale & Quale” product range without GMO, hydrogenated fats, synthetic colourings

2006 Prodotti Stella U.S.A. was founded in Fort Lauderdale.

2006 Prodotti Stella is the official supplier of “Gelato world cup”

2008 Launch of “Total Natural” products: additional to the “Tale & Quale” features, there are no synthetic thinkers, emulsifiers stabilizers and flavours. Just 100% natural Italian gelato.
